Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
A large volume of VHF and UHF channels are necessary for operational, security and video production purposes during the United States Formula One Automobile Races at Circuit of the Americas Race Track in Austin, Texas and at a street track including part of the Las Vegas Strip. During the qualifying events and the race itself, large numbers of race teams from Europe and other parts of the world will be bringing equipment to the race track for short range or very short range (and short term) operational and video production communications, and for medical teams, operations, and security. Sufficient VHF and UHF frequencies cannot be obtained through the Commissions licensing process. These are very short duration operations at the largest automobile racing events in the United States. Please see attached narrative exhibit.
