Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
I am an Undergraduate Research Student and working with the Mobile, Pervasive, and Autonomous Communication Technologies (MPACT) group at Florida International University (FIU). We are planning to conduct experimentation on LTE communication around the 3.5 GHz band. The purpose of the research project is to be able to test a private LTE base station network for disaster relief purposes and scenarios. We will be testing an LTE network consisting of 3 USRP (universal software radio peripherals). One will be attached to the drone and acting as the LTE base station and the other two will be acting as UE (user equipment) that will be communicating to each other over the created LTE network. The experiments are scheduled to use Band 3.55 - 3.60 GHz

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The purpose of operation is to test the performance of a LTE network (3.55 - 3.60 GHz) The study is expected to provide us an insight into the performance metric and resilience of implementing a LTE base station in those bands. It may help us to suggest some modifications to the existing protocols. The study is funded by a NSF grant under Dr. Ismail Guvenc, formerly at Florida International University, and currently at North Carolina State University.
