An STA is necessary to allow Ericsson to demonstrate its QuicLINK mobile radio communications solution at the Federal Communications Commission.

Special Temporary Authority application - Information

Class of Station:

Special Temporary Authority application - Initial values - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:
Ericsson is engaged in a Truck Tour to demonstrate its QuicLINK mobile radio communications solution at several locations. At each antenna location, Ericsson will only operate in that location for several hours over the course of the one day requested. In applications with multiple antennas, the first antenna corresponds with the first day of the STA and the second antenna corresponds with the second day, etc. QuicLINK provides WCDMA radio access and core network functionality in a single integrated system. A QuicLINK system supports circuit-switched voice/video UE-to-UE, UE-to-PSTN, and PSTN-to-UE calls, as well as packet-switched data calls. In addition, a QuicLINK system is capable of stand-alone operation where it provides UE-to-UE calls within its radio coverage area. QuicLINK is specifically designed for deployable, mobile units, e.g., military field operations. Ericsson wishes to demonstrate this functionality to customers.
