We request Special Temporary Authority to operate a high power experimental radar in the 5.3 - 6 GHz band for limited testing at two specified sites. The system is a research/test radar using non-certified prototype equipment and requires temporary radiating authority because its operating parameters greatly exceed Part 15 unlicensed limits and cannot operate under standard certified equipment rules. The purpose of the test program is phased laboratory and field evaluation of radar performance, beam control, and interference mitigation techniques prior to any permanent deployment or product certification.
