Please explain the purpose of operation:
Research for Ice Study. This radar is used for remote sensing the snow thickness over sea ice. Test flights will be conducted in Colorado in preparation for deployment in the Arctic. This is NRL (Naval Research Laboratory) contract number NNX13AQ30A.
