Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
We are only requesting a 3 month STA to allow time for the processing of a permanent application via the 442 form, which we will be filing immediately. Also, we are seeking immediate authorization, as our previous license, WI9XXQ, authorization ended on 3/16/2016. We are also dropping 2 locations from the request. Cohere Technologies would like to test an innovative solution at or near our facilities in Santa Clara, CA. The proposed transmitter is not yet type approved, and will comply with section 2.803 of the rules.

Cohere Technologies has developed a new modulation technique using Orthogonal Time Frequency Shift modulation (OTFS). The modulation technique promises to deliver higher spectral efficiency, no intra-cell interference, resilience to fading, multipath diversity and among other increased throughput techniques, may very well qualify as a new 5G air interface.
