Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
There are not enough low power auxiliary channels available to coordinate video production activities in connection with the NASCAR automobile race at the Fontana Raceway in Fontana, California during the period August 31 through September 4, 2006. The STA is necessary to enable the applicant to use low power voice portable transceivers on a T-band channel (in this case Channel 15 (476-482 MHz), in lieu of normal low power broadcast auxiliary channels for which the applicant is licensed. The local Southern California Frequency Coordination Committee database administrator has advised that BAS channels are unavailable forf this event at this location due to local users needs. Hence, the short term use of these channels is necessary.

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The purpose of the operation is to facilitate video production for network airing of the NASCAR automobile race at the Fontana Raceway, Fontana, CA during the single period August 31, 2006 through September 4, 2006. The lower power voice channels using 12.5 kHz bandwidth inside the raceway will permit the applicant to use portable radios to coordinate and conduct normal video production activities on behalf of broadcast and cable networks.
