Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Wireless video transmission channels in support of video production efforts at the United States Grand Prix Formula One Automobile Race at Indianapolis, Indiana are needed due to the extraordinary crowding of licensed Broadcast Auxiliary and Local Television Transmission Service channels. The applicant is a video production company which furnishes video for broadcast and cable networks. Existing licensed facilities are inadequate to provide video from the race cars for broadcast. These channels are allocated for Aeronautical Flight Test Telemetry. The proposed operation is coordinated in the normal course with the Aeronautical Flight Test Radio Coordination Council (AFTRCC). No operation will occur unless and until such coordination is confirmed in writing from AFTRCC and received by the applicant.
