Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Applicant is a video production company which provides video for broadcast, satellite broadcast and cablecast of sporting and other events. Applicant has certain LTTS, BAS and private wireless licenses for this purpose. However, the spectrum demands at sports events, and the limited LTTS/BAS spectrum for these events makes it necessary to make coordinated, temporary use of additional channels in the vicinity of 2 GHz. Such is necessary to have sufficient video relay from RF cameras at numerous locations at a golf course, in numerous race vehicles, or in arenas, while allowing normal ENG use of the BAS spectrum at the same time in a given venue. Applicant has coordinated all spectrum use requested herin with AFTRCC, which coordinates flight test telemetry operations on the subject channels.
