Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation

Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Applicant is a video production company which provides video for broadcast, satellite broadcast and cablecast of sporting and other events. Applicant has certain LTTS, BAS and private wireless licenses for this purpose. However, the applicant has been engaged to provide video production services for the upcoming horse racing event at the Belmont Park Race Track in Elmont, New York from June 2 through June 8, 2008. Available channels for voice audio to coordinate video production activities are extremely limited due to use by other licensees in the Elmont area. Applicant requires the use of additional UHF channels for portable, two-way voice communications for this event on a short-term, temporary basis. Proposed is the use of 470-476 MHz, Television channel 14. Applicant has conducted an interference study using the Commissions television channel database. The nearest station is a low power station W26BS in Binghamton, NY, which is approximately 148 miles from the Belmont Park Race Track. Therefore, no interference from this low power operation to television viewers is predicted. Should any interference be complained of, applicant will cease use of the 470-476 MHz band immediately, unless remediated.
