Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Applicant is a video production company which provides video for broadcast, satellite broadcast and cablecast of sporting and other events. Applicant has certain LTTS, BAS and Private Wireless licenses for this purpose. However, the applicant has been engaged to provide video production services for an upcoming NASCAR automobile race in Daytona Beach, Florida from February 6 through February 17, 2008. Available channels for voice audio to coordinate video production activities are extremely limited due to use by car racing teams, security, and other operations personnel in the area and at the race course. Applicant requires the use of additional UHF channels for portable, two-way voice communications for this event on a short-term, temporary and low power basis. Proposed is the use of 482-488 MHz. Should any interference be reported, applicant will cease use of the 482-488 MHz band immediately, unless and until remedied.
