Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Applicant is a video production company which provides video for broadcast, satellite broadcast and cablecast of sporting and other events. Applicant has certain LTTS, BAS and Private Wireless licenses for this purpose. However, available channels for voice audio to coordinate video production activities are extremely limited due to use by the auto racing teams, security, and other operations personnel in the area and at the race track. The applicant has been engaged to provide video production services for the upcoming NASCAR automobile races in Justin, TX, Avondale, AZ and Talladega, AL from April 1st through April 27th, 2009. Applicant requires the use of an additional UHF channel for portable, two-way voice communications for this event on a short-term, temporary basis. Proposed is the use of channels 15 (476-482 MHz), 18 (4946-500 MHz) and 19 (500-506 MHz). Applicant has conducted a co-channel and adjacent channel search of television stations in the area of the race track. See exhibit. Due to the proposed low power operation by applicant, no interference to television viewers is anticipated. Should any interference be reported, applicant will cease use of any portion of the requested bands immediately, unless and until remedied.
