Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of frequency band 1920 to 1930 MHz. The purpose is to demonstrate a new wireless communication system at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention (NAB) for the period of April 24 through April 27, 2017 (includes setup and testing). The manufacturer of this new system is currently in the process of seeking FCC equipment approval which would then allow it to operate unlicensed in this band; however, since the approval has not yet been grated an STA is being requested to allow it to be demonstrated. The units will operate only inside the venue with an average power of 10 mW. Broad Comm provides radio frequency support services to various entities at major events. The FCC has granted Broad Comm and others similar requests for numerous previous events.
