Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of the frequency range 500.25 to 505.75 MHz (in television channel 19) for the purpose of providing coordination and logistical support for the televised network coverage of The Rose Bowl Parade and related events in the Pasadena, CA area from the period of December 29, 2008 through January 2, 2009. Broad Comm provides radio frequency support services to broadcasters and broadcast network entities for coverage of major events. The FCC has granted Broad Comm and others similar requests for several previous events. The large number of units requested is due to the magnitude of these events and the number of staff that will require coordination.
