Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation

Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of frequencies in the range form 500.250 to 505.750 MHz (within TV channel 19). These frequencies will be used to provide provide logistical support and aural coverage for televison network presentation of the U. S. Open Tennis event at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens NY between August 22 and September 11, 2006. No interference to existing televison operations is anticiapted due to the low power proposed for this use (maximum 25 watts ERP). A search of the FCC televison database shows no nearest full service TV station on channel 19 within 200 km from the proposed area of operation and the distance to the nearest LPTV is 173.2 km. In addition, the site is 142.6 km from the nearest land mobile reservation on channel 19. Broad Comm provides radio-frequency support services to broadcasters and broadcast network entities for coverage of major events. The FCC has granted Broad Comm and others similar requests for several previous events. In that there are significant logistics involved in covering such an event, the network will need the use of frequencies above and beyond those normally avaialble for their day-to-day production activities.
