Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of frequencies 2365, 2375 and 2385 MHz (all are AFTRCC coordinated frequencies) for the purpose of providing portable video televised coverage of the Tour of California Bicycle Race from May 13 through May 20, 2017 (Per AFRCC coordination). In addition, a number of other frequencies are being requested to support this large event for the period of May 7 through May 20, 2017. Please note that the following frequencies will be for airborne use at a height not to exceed 500 feet. 160.2875, 160.3250. 160.3500, 164.8875, 164.9250, 164.9500, 455.9125, 456.0375, 456.2500, 456.3500, 456.8375, 465.9250, 466.8375, 466.0375, 3410.0, 3510.0 and 3615.0 The large number of frequencies is required as this event covers a very large area of California over multiple days and requires considerable logistics support in addition to the televised coverage. Broad Comm provides radio frequency support services to broadcasters and broadcast network entities for coverage of major events. The FCC has granted Broad Comm and others similar requests for several previous events. AFTRCC coordination has been requested and received for this event. Copy attached.
