This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of 418.175, 418.400, 428.175 and 428.400 MHz for the purpose of Broad Comm provides radio frequency support services to broadcasters and broadcast network entities for coverage of major events. The FCC has previously authorized the use of these frequencies and equipment at the Red Bull Air Race in San Diego, CA earlier this year. The purpose here is to demonstrate the customizable features of a digital communications system and how communications for a major event can be optimized using a new digital system, so that a temporary radio system has the capabilities of a full-blown cell system, including groups, SMS, texting, voice and many other features. The number of units requested fits the needs of a major event.
