This regards a request by Broad Comm, Inc. (Broad Comm) for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow use of frequencies in the 2 GHz range (2072 - 2097 MHz, 2280-2288 MHz). The purpose is to do airborne (not to exceed 900 feet AGL testing of new military and homeland security equipment. The testing is scheduled to occur over a period from 3/25/2013 through 5/31/2013 in northwestern Kansas. The length of each individual test will not exceed 1-hour. The applicant is aware that a portion of the requested frequencies are in the BAS band and the applicant will coordinate any use with the BAS users in the area. Broad Comm provides radio frequency support services to various entities. The FCC has granted Broad Comm and others similar requests for numerous previous events.
