Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
An STA is needed in order for Applicant to make certain determinations about the technical feasibility, operation and reliability of its product. In order to make such a determination, Applicant must be able to test the operation of the product in the actual residential environment in which it is intended to operate. Because type acceptance authorization for the equipment has not yet been obtained, an STA is necessary in order for Applicant to begin product testing. Timely commencement of the testing process is necessary in order for Applicant to meet its timetable for bringing its product to market. Accordingly, Applicant requests expeditious processing of this application so that it may commence testing as planned on August 28, 2000.
