Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation

Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Information from previous power tests showed high VSWR in the system. Additional testing at lower power levels provided confidence in the design changes. We are now required to conduct tests at the higher power levels to insure there are no unknown thermal issues when operating at the higher powers expected for wideband and typical rain conditions.

Nature of Service:
Experimental

Special Temporary Authority application - Initial values - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The need is to test at higher power for a limited duration. The test is expected to last for approximately 6 hours. This test will verify design changes. The planned tests will be with approximately 5 CW signals in each band. The specific frequencies are nearly evenly distributed across the frequency ranges identified below. Reference attached exhibit that highlights the steps taken to avoid interference with other licensed operators in the frequency bands of interest.
