Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
Our synthetic aperture radar system is in development for the US Department of Defense. A set of tests are planned at Eglin, AFB in April 2020. We will have a limited time on the range, and we wish to test the radar in civilian airspace outside the military ranges prior to testing at the range. Frequency approval for our time on the range will be handled separately through the Air Force frequency coordination process. We intend to operate within 75 km of Destin, Florida, excluding the areas near Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field, Panama City, Tyndall AFB, Whiting Field, Pensacola, and the international airports in the area.
