Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
As part of the SIO program AATI is required to perform a flight demonstration with detect and avoid (DAA) equipment and a command non-payload communication (CNPC) command and control (C2) radio on board the UAS. The DAA radar equipment will only be used to collect experimental data, not for collision avoidance. The CNPC radio will be used as the primary radio link for C2 using C-band frequencies which have been previously coordinated with the FAA. The flight will demonstrate the potential use of UAS for critical infrastructure inspection.
