Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Airwavz intends to conduct field based experimentation and testing to understand the performance of CBRS spectrum using an in-building dedicated RAN and passive DAS equipment. The STA will enable Airwavz to work with its vendors to conduct testing and evaluate the viability of CBRS for indoor, passive DAS Dedicated RAN networks. By using passive DAS dedicated RAN networks for office buildings, this will allow Airwavz to study CBRS RF propagation, coverage and capacity.

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
An in-building CBRS wireless network using a passive DAS set up that incorporates a baseband radio located in an office building IDF closet and distributes LTE signal across multiple antennas. he type of deployment operation that will be performed using the STA is an in-building CBRS wireless network using a passive DAS set up. A passive DAS incorporates a baseband radio located in an office building IDF closet and which then distributes LTE signal across multiple antennas located on the various floors in the office building. Using CBRS will allow Airwavz to test the suitability of this spectrum band for this deployment model. Via this experimentation, the STA would enable Airwavz to test operations indoor with varying types of eNodeBs that operate at 1W or less or greater than 1W. As this is solely for experimentation, this deployment operation will inform Airwavzs testing on the amount of total EIRP on each of the antennas situated on each floor in the building.
