Advent Networks is proposing to test cable television equipment using the Hybrid Fiber Coax transmission plant owned by Everest Connections in Lenexa, a suburb of Kansas City, Kansas. As described herein, the head end equipment will include a Motorola chassis into which an Advent Networks modem card is installed. It is proposed to enable up to 16 subscribers, including 8 business and 8 residential, on this system. Subscribers will have a test modem (CPE) that includes an external, UL approved power supply. These modems are the property of Advent Networks, Inc., and are not available to Everest Connections or any other entity for sale and are clearly marked 'Not for Resale' on the case. The modems will be provided to subscribers at no cost at the beginning of the testing and recovered from the subscribers at the end of the test. Said equipment has been designed using best standard engineering practices for HF equipment, but may not be compliant to Part 15 radiated and conducted emissions.
