Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The STA will enable VT UAS Test Site to test low weight, low power prototype airborne radar in order to evaluate its use in traffic management systems research conducted for NASA and FAA.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  To test its low weight, low power prototype radar. This ultra-small SWaP-C radar has been designed to enable UAS to detect and avoid other airborne vehicles, thus allowing them to safely fly Beyond Visual Line of Sight. This application covers initial testing from an airborne sUAS and subsequent testing in controlled traffic management scenarios conducted by Virginia Tech for NASA and FAA
