Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
STA is request because: 1. proposed time of operation is limited to 18 days 2. Limited length of time between request and proposed operation This Special Temporary Authorization is requested to allow the CBS TV Network to operate a wireless transmitter to transmit high definition (HDTV) images at the US Open in support of Television coverage of the event by CBS. The transmitter may be used from a blimp hovering over the vicinity of the tennis stadium, and transmitting to a receiver in the Tennis Center or within the US Tennis Center Complex or for ground based wireless cameras. The transmitter is a prototype that will be used for proposes of obtaining experimental operational field data on the quality of transmission, including the range of error free transmission of full bandwidth high definition television, and other operational factors. The observations will be used to develop the next generation of high definition television wireless camera transmitters.
