Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
I have already submitted a form 442 application for these Seasonde installations at the Delaware Bay mouth (file number 0279-EX-PL-2006). Since that application will not be processed before September 2006, and we need to complete initial install/testing during August 2006, I am submitting this temporary use authorization request.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  The University of Delaware will install and operate two CODAR type HF radar SeaSonde units at the Delaware Bay mouth for continuous near real-time ocean surface current monitoring as part of the National Ocean Observing System.
