Experiment duration will be less than 6 months, and thus we have been directed to use Application for Special Temporary Authority in lieu of the Form 442 Filing Option. As our experimental testing was delayed we are requesting a revised STA with the below dates. Initial testing is now planned for August/September of 2019.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Operation of a low-power imaging radar system developed by Umbra Lab Inc. It is designed for operation on an airborne platform, but experimental testing may also be performed on mobile platforms. The purpose of the radar system, and the rational for this STA, is to 1) demonstrate hardware and functionality necessary for a planned space-based synthetic aperture radar, and 2) gather imaging radar data pertinent to the operation of a space-based synthetic aperture radar operating within the ITU allocated frequencies at X-band. Umbra Lab coordinated the previous experimental operation with local regulatory agencies / stakeholders and will plan to do so again.
