FAA Coordination and Supplementary Statement
Telephonics Corporation has previously held an Experimental License for the equipment on this
application under the call sign WA2XRP, which has since expired. During the application of
that license Telephonics had coordinated the operational frequencies of the system applied for.
The FAA Coordination Number is NGT030302.

Telephonics Corporation is a primary supplier of air traffic control (ATC) equipment to the
United States Government and to more than 16 countries. Telephonics domestic customers’ for
ATC equipment include US Air Force, US Navy, and the FAA.

The transmitter to be used for experimentation is standard for use with International Civil
Aviation Organization (ICAO) Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System (ATCRBS). The
transmitters meet ICAO and FAA requirements, and transmit standard P1, P2, and P3
interrogation pulses. No experimentation is planned that deviates from these requirements.
The Transmitter/Receiver is used to supply live signals to the data acquisition, processing, and
display equipment for development, production acceptance test, and demonstration purposes.
Telephonics Corporation and its predecessors, Eaton Corporation and Cutler-Hammer, have held
Experimental licenses for over 25 years, and currently hold licenses for other frequencies.
