The Telephonics MOSAICTM AESA radar research project is a multi-year development program internally
funded by Telephonics. The specific objective of the program is development of an active electronically
scanned array (AESA) and the integration of said array with existing radar hardware that incorporates
firmware and software to perform the necessary back end radar processing. The goal of the program is
to provide a fixed antenna alternative to Telephonics’ existing radar product lines which are traditionally
mechanically rotated. This represents a substantial evolution in the state of the radio art as it applies to
maritime radar. It is expected that the MOSAIC radar product line will grow into a major product line
and will eventually be offered to customers both domestic and international.
