Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The STA is necessary to use a 900 MHz transmitter to provide telemetry data for the experimental operation of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). This experiment will operate in Camp Roberts, California - a California Military Department test range. The piece of equipment, while FCC certified, does not have an FCC license and the range operations requires FCC authorization for its use.
Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
The transmitter provides short range (< 10 mile), low data rate communication between the ground station and the UAV. Basic telemtery data on aircraft status and location is provided.
