Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Space Data Corporation (?Space Data?) seeks an STA to conduct research trials on three frequencies identified below in order to determine whether the iDEN wireless protocol can operate effectively on Space Data?s SkySite® platform network, an innovative balloon-based telecommunications system currently used to provide advanced messaging and other advanced wireless services. Space Data?s network is further described in the attached Exhibit 1. Space Data intends to conduct the trials using standard commercially available iDEN-based cellular telephones. Nextel Partners Operating Corporation (?NPOC?) has consented to allow Space Data access to three frequency bands for which NPOC is the licensee or otherwise controls. A copy of NPOC?s signed authorization for Space Data to conduct the proposed mobile wireless trials using the three identified frequencies is attached as Exhibit 2.
