The Applied Physical Electronics transmitter is a compact coaxial
Marx generator. Prime power for the unit is supplied via an umbilical
from a high voltage power supply. The generator is configured to
drive a dipole antenna (a portion of which is formed by the Marx
pressure housing) directly and will emit an oscillatory waveform of a
few cycles. The attached antenna will determine the frequency
characteristics of the emission.
