RENEWAL OF EXPERIMENTAL STATION LICENSE

Pursuant to Section 5.71 of the Commission=s rules, 47 C.F.R. ∋ 5.71,
SprintCom, Inc. (ΑSprintCom≅) hereby seeks a renewal of its experimental radio station license,
WA2XIC, for a period of 5 years. SprintCom is the licensee of numerous broadband PCS
licenses authorized under Part 24 of the Commission=s rules. In order to fulfill its obligations to
buildout its PCS market areas within the time allotted by the Commission, and to improve
service to the public, SprintCom must continually devise, test and implement different
technology and network design strategies. The purpose of the instant experimental license is to
authorize SprintCom to test and evaluate various base station location and design configurations
as it determines the optimal manner in which to develop its markets. Doing so enables
SprintCom to determine, among other things, the impact of prospective facilities on incumbent
operators and whether potential interference concerns can be addressed through antenna, filter
and/or power adjustments. Often, this process may involve utilization of test transmitters and
other planning equipment that are not yet type accepted to best accomplish this task. Therefore,
in order to facilitate its continuing market development and deployment efforts, SprintCom
respectfully requests that the Commission renew its experimental license, under the same terms
and conditions as previously authorized, until February 1, 2006.
