                                                                File Number 0020-EX-ML-2016

                       Exhibit: Description of Proposed Modification
Rockwell Collins, Inc. (Rockwell Collins) respectfully requests modification of its experimental
license (Call Sign WG2XLA) to incorporate the additional operating parameters set forth in its
application File Number 0020-EX-ML-2016. As set forth in greater detail in its exhibits
accompanying the initial application for this experimental license, Rockwell Collins uses this
experimental license to support design and development of various radar technologies.
The additional operating parameters requested in application File Number 0020-EX-ML-2016
will enable Rockwell Collins to evaluate synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technologies as part of
its development processes. Rockwell Collins intends to use existing frequencies and emissions
designators that have already been approved, and operate the SAR radar equipment at far lower
transmit power than currently authorized. Rockwell Collins intends to conduct evaluations using
transceivers attached to vehicles. The total height of antennas including any masts will not
exceed 4 meters. Rockwell respectfully requests authorization to conduct these experiments
within an area not to exceed a 32.2 km radius centered on Rockwell Collins’ facilities in Cedar
Rapids, IA.
Rockwell Collins anticipates that these experiments would be subject to the same conditions that
apply to its existing license, including the requirement to immediately cease operations in the
unlikely event that an existing licensee experiences harmful interference as a result of these
experiments.
