Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Raytheon is the Depot support service for the TWR equipment. As the Depot, we provide support testing of TWR hardware/software upgrades and enhancements, training and repair/maintenance testing of exiting equipment. We operate and maintain the Tactical Weather Radar (TWR) at Raytheon to support operation and maintenace of TWR equipment for the Air Force. The Air Force has 9 operational TWR systems in Europe and Asia supporting fixed and tactical Air Bases. These systems directly support the War efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Raytheon requires an operational system to support testing of equipment enhancements, training and repair testing of exiting equipment.
