               Aurora Special Temporary Authorization Request

Purpose of Operation

Raytheon Network Centric Systems (NCS) has been developing the Aurora and WIPN
radios for U.S. Military customers. The Aurora and WIPN radios provide a Mobile
Adhoc Network (MANET) data network capability able to provide effective throughput
up to 11Mbps. Raytheon will use conduct experiments and demonstrations of evolving
capability for increase network functionality for the warfighter.

Experimental Explanation
To provide systems that combine innovative features such as Raytheon’s RayMANET

battlefield connectivity.
