Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Zumwalt Common Data Llink system over-the-air testing at Salt Lake City, UT, is planned from July 6, 2009 to Oct. 30, 2009 (4 months) only. An STA is sufficient to cover this period.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  To verify over-the-air Common Data Link interoperability between the Zumwalt CDL system (a surface terminal) and a simulated CDL airborne platform. To verify over-the-air Common Data Link interoperability between the Zumwalt CDL system (a surface terminal) and a simulated CDL airborne platform. Verification includes single link and simultaneous dual link operation at uplink rates of 200 kbps, 400 kbps and 2 Mbps, and downlink rates of 10.71 Mbps, 21.42 Mbps, and 44.73 Mbps. The Zumwalt CDL system operates in the Ku Band (M14400-15500).
