Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The prototype will be operated at the Raytheon Test Facility in Pelham, NH over the period of March 20 to September 20 2013. The purpose of this request for Special Temporary Authorization is to demonstrate the maturity of our system concept and technology to the customer.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  To demonstrate the operation of a prototype radar system. Frequency authorization for 5.412, 5.442, and 5.472 GHz the 5.4 to 5.5GHz band (C-Band) is being requested for the period of March 20 to September 30 2013. It will be used to demonstrate the operation of a prototype radar system (hereafter referred to as “the prototype” or “the radar”). This demonstration is intended to show maturity of key technologies designed and developed by Raytheon. It is essential that radar performance be demonstrated in a real-time radar environment. Furthermore, testing in real-time environments with realistic target profiles is needed to fully prepare for the follow-on demonstration to the customer.
