Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
RF Film requests that the Commission grant it temporary authority to operate on the frequencies centered at 2367MHz and 2384MHz beginning January 01, 2012 with intermittent usage and ceasing operation on February 28, 2012. As explained below, RF Film, Inc is filing an STA request for the filming of a Sony Pictures production ?Spiderman 4? to be held in Los Angeles, California. RF Film submits that there are extraordinary circumstances warranting a grant of the STA request.
Sony Pictures has contracted RF Film, Inc to provide the necessary microwave for the filming of this feature film. Due to the extreme frequency congestion in the Los Angeles area, coupled with the added congestion from traditional Television and News coverage of the special event, RF Film requests the use of channels in the 2360 - 2390 MHz Telemetry Band.
RF Film, Inc certifies that the operation of the requested channel for the purposes specified herein will not cause interference to any established stations.
Grant of the instant request for STA in the 2.3GHz band would serve the public interest by enabling RF Film, Inc to supply the requested remote video coverage for this filming. The proposed service would enhance Filming of the event by providing on the spot pictures from mobile locations that would not otherwise be available to the filmmakers. RF Film, Inc is in the process of obtaining the consent of the relevant frequency coordinators for this project, including AFTRCC. AFTRCC has indicated its intent to forward the results of the coordination to the Commission.
