This letter serves as an exhibit attached to FCC Form 442 application file 0331-EX-CN-2018.
Please find below my narrative responses to questions contained in that application.

Q7. An X-band, polarimetric Doppler weather radar is to be operated by Purdue University, which
is located in northwest Indiana. This area resides in a lower atmospheric observing gap of the
nearest three National Weather Service radars (located in Chicago, Indianapolis, and Fort Wayne,
Indiana, respectively), with the center of the lowest beam passing over Purdue at an altitude of 1.2
km AGL. Installation of this weather radar will aid local stakeholders in the detection of low-
altitude weather hazards, including tornadoes, downbursts, hail, flooding rains, and destructive
straight-line-winds. Data from this radar will be used by Purdue University in the education of
atmospheric science, engineering, and aviation students, among other groups. It will also be used to
augment ongoing scientific research undertaken by Purdue faculty.

Q12. Purdue University is a public land grant university located in northwest Indiana, with
approximately 40,000 students.
