Pursuant to an inquiry received from OET on December 7, 2012 (Reference # 18762), Panasonic
Avionics Corporation (Panasonic) hereby responds to the OET correspondence regarding Panasonic?s
pending application for modification of an experimental license (ELS File No. 0201-EX-ML-2012). The
OET?s correspondence asks whether Panasonic needs authorization for the requested frequency bands
or only ?spot? frequencies to conduct the proposed testing. Panasonic?s application seeks authorization
to conduct TPED EMI testing on parked aircraft in several frequency bands. Included in the supporting
application materials is a table listing one or more 1 MHz ?spot? frequencies for each requested
frequency band. The actual testing will take place in these 1 MHz ?spot? frequencies and not in the
entirety of each frequency band. Panasonic wishes to retain the flexibility to test at differing 1 MHz
frequencies in the frequency bands identified in the above-referenced application. Panasonic needs this
flexibility to adjust the 1 MHz ?spot? frequencies at the test sites to account for the local frequency
environment and coordination with adjacent licensees. Accordingly, Panasonic confirms that it seeks
authorization for the requested frequency bands identified in the pending application. If you have any
additional questions regarding this application, please do not hesitate to contact me.
