Application for use of the ACTS Spacecraft

Details and Clarifications regarding items on form 442
during entry of amendments for earth station data

                                Antenna Data Entry
Two mobile antennas are described; OCACT will operate 4-6 units of each:
  1. A USAT antenna using a 1W transmitter on a .6m dish
  2. A VSAT antenna using 1W and 10W transmitters on a 1.2m dish

One fixed antenna is described, namely the Link Evaluation Terminals (LET) at NASA
Glenn.

                                   Frequency Data
Frequency and emission data is based on the NTIA authorization documents filed by
NASA where applicable.

USAT with 1W transmitter
ERP: The radiated power is 40.7dBW EIRP. (11.75kW has been entered in the form)
Tolerance: N/A

VSAT with 1W transmitter
ERP: The radiated power is 46.7dBW EIRP. (46.7kW has been entered in the form)
Tolerance: N/A

LET
ERP: The radiated power is 78dBW EIRP. (63.1MW has been entered in the form)
Tolerance: N/A

                                      Emission Data
Phase shift keying is used in all ground stations. While all stations can operate in digital
data mode, some stations can combine data and command transmissions in a TDMA
frame structure. LET can be used on the full transponder bandwidth of ACTS.
