Special Temporary Authority application - Initial values - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The purpose of the operation is to evaluate telemetry from the air to a ground level communications node at low power. The evaluation is of an experimental transmitter coupled with a developmental patch antenna as radiator. Operation will be designed around a signal with 10 Megahertz bandwidth to operate on a single fixed center frequency from 2235 to 2275 MHz.

Special Temporary Authority application - Purpose of Operation

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The purpose of the operation is to evaluate telemetry from the air to a ground level communications node at low power. The evaluation is of an experimental transmitter coupled with a developmental patch antenna as radiator. Operation will be designed for a single fixed center frequency on a 5 megahertz channel center with 10 megahertz bandwidth. Desired center frequencies are 2235, 2240, 2245, 2250, 2255, 2260, 2265, and 2270 MHz. The transmit antennas are characterized in a flat panel then formed and bonded to an airframe, at which point the center frequency characteristics shift slightly. Ideally, the approval of multiple discrete center frequencies will allow for this hardware variation during operation. There is some limited flexibility to tune the antennas once formed to shift up or down if one or more requested frequencies are denied. Prior to test coordination will be accomplished with affected parties to eliminate conflicts.
