Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
By this application, Motorola Solutions, Inc., respectfully requests special temporary authority (STA), from July 14-27, 2018, to test and demonstrate prototype equipment under development for the Department of Defense that will operate in the in the 2200-2250 MHz band. Operations will be conducted in connection with the July 2018 USSOCOM Technical Experimentation (TE) 18-3 Event. DoD has requested that participants obtain an experimental STA. The DoD contact for this event is Thomas W. McGowan ([email protected]).

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  By this application, Motorola Solutions, Inc., seeks an STA to test and demonstrate prototype hardware and software under development for the Department of Defense. By this application, Motorola Solutions, Inc., seeks an STA to test and demonstrate prototype hardware and software under development for the Department of Defense that will operate in the 2200-2250 MHz band. Tests and evaluations will be conducted at the Fort A.P. Hill Asymmetrical Warfare Training Center in Bowling Green, VA, and at the facilities of Motorola Solutions, Inc. in Schaumburg, IL.
