FRN: 0002861649 Request for Part 5 Experimental Special Temporary Authority ELS File No. 0677-EX-ST-2019 REQUEST FOR EXPEDITED TREATMENT As discussed in the “Narrative Statement” accompanying the above-referenced application for special temporary authority (“STA”), Motorola Solutions, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of mobile radio equipment and systems, and it is continually engaged in the design and development of new and innovative solutions. The experimental authority requested herein will allow the company to demonstrate the functionality and reliability of prototype devices designed to support the needs of potential users. Motorola Solutions was recently asked to conduct the demonstrations much earlier than scheduled, commencing on May 15, 2019, to meet customer requirements and to fit within the customer’s available times allotted for such testing. Accordingly, Motorola Solutions respectfully requests expedited treatment of its request so that it may commence operations on that date. The customer is unable to re-schedule the demonstrations for a different date, as the representatives attending the demonstrations cannot readily participate at another time. In addition, Motorola Solutions seeks to provide data regarding the results of the demonstrations at follow-up meetings with customer representatives to be held shortly after the demonstrations proposed under the STA are completed. Also, please note that Motorola Solutions does not propose to market, sell, or lease prototype equipment to end users under the requested authority. Moreover, no fees will be charged to entities evaluating the equipment during the demonstrations. After the experimentation ceases, Motorola Solutions will recall and recover all experimental devices. PUBLIC INTEREST STATEMENT Motorola Solutions submits that expedited processing of its request for an STA is in the public interest, convenience, and necessity, as it will permit Motorola Solutions to conduct timely tests and demonstrations that will support its research and development of innovative and reliable equipment designed to the communications needs of potential users. 141841201
