NARRATIVE STATEMENT

Pursuant to Sections 5.51 and 5.53 of the Commission’s rules,
47 C.F.R. §§ 5.51, 5.53 (2010), Motorola Solutions, Inc. (“MSI”) hereby
respectfully requests a renewal of its experimental license for a one year
period commencing September 1, 2012, so that it may continue to conduct
tests in the 758-768/788-798 MHz band in connection with the development
of Long Term Evolution (“LTE”) equipment as authorized under File No.
0337-EX-PL-2011 and call sign WF2XWB.

MSI notes that it has asked for the renewal authority requested herein
to commence as of the date its current license is scheduled to expire.
Coincidentally, FirstNet is scheduled to begin operation in a similar same
timeframe. MSI recognizes that its operations may be subject to additional
coordination requirements once FirstNet becomes fully functional and the
FCC and FirstNet decide how to coordinate the operations in this band.

In the meantime, however, MSI requires a renewal of its authority so
that it may continue to test, evaluate and demonstrate prototype equipment
that will accommodate the communications needs of users. Accordingly, as
provided under Section 5.61(b) of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 1.62
(2010), this application is therefore also intended to serve as a continuance
of MSI’s authority to operate as permitted under its license pending action on
the instant application.
