             Mr. Serafini:
Thank you fcr your message regarding the expedlte request for File No.
0849-EX-ST-2006. First, please allow me to apologize for not getting back to you by COB
Friday as requesred. BAE Systems was closed company-wide on Friday and as a result I was
unable to address this matter until now. I understand that there is a certain response
period for NTIA zoordination and that this slight delay in providing my response to you
may inpact the timing of grant to some degree. I hope, however, that with this response
you are able to forward the matter to NTIA so that it can begin the coordination process
at rhis time to permit a grant as close to May 1 as possible.
In response tc your specific points, BAE Systems confirms:
1. This request seeks authority to permit completion of the specified experiment under
currently scheduled timeframes, and no more. Grant on or around May 1 is requested to
permlt verification of the test signals and resolution of any operational/technical
problems prior to the arrival of the helicopter. By May 14, the system is intended to be
installed in the helicopter, which is expected to arrive on-site on May 17. Testing (with
air and yround targets) is expected to take place, based on current scheduling
requirements, through June 22, 2007. To account for potential delays due to weather or
equipment malfunction repair or other circumstances beyond BAE Systems' control, a grant
throtigh and including July 27, 2007, is requested. As discussed below, this outside date
of July 27, 2007, ccincides with the availability of the helicopter as confirmed by our
Army contact.
2. The notch out from 16-16.2 GHz remains acceptable.
3. Below you will find the e-mail from Keith Megow, the Project Engineer responsible for
the aforementioned flight demonstrations, confirming the current availability of the
helicopter through and including July 27, 2007.

I hope ycu flnd these answers responsive to your questions. We very much appreciate your
asslstance in handling this application, and I remain available to answer any additional
questions ycu may have.
Sincerely,
Matthew Thiele
