Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Mobile Satellite Ventures Subsidiary LLC (MSV) hereby requests a two-month extension of its existing experimental Special Temporary Authority (STA) to conduct a limited test and demonstration of the WiMAX air interface protocol using L-band spectrum. The current STA grant expires on October 10, 2006. To date, MSV has been unable to perform its testing as originally planned. Grant of this extension will maintain MSVs authority to conduct this test in the coming months. The technical parameters authorized for this experimental operation will remain the same.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Conducting a limited test and demonstration of the WiMAX air interface protocol using L-band spectrum. See Exhibit A.
