Burtle Federal Communications Commission Office of Engineering and Technology The Portals 445 Twelfth Street, SW Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Request of Mobile Satellite Ventures Subsidiary LLC For Experimental License FCC Form 442 Call Sign WBOXQG (File No. 0150—EX—ST—2002) Dear Mr. Burtle: Mobile Satellite Ventures Subsidiary LLC ("MSV") hereby files this Form 442 for an experimental license pursuant to Part 5 of the Commussion‘s Rules to test and demonstrate mobile terminals ("MT‘s") at four locations that will operate with its licensed satellite, MSAT—2. MSV is the U.S. licensee of a mobile satellite service ("MSS") system in the L—band. MSV currently holds an STA to test and demonstrate these MT‘s. See File No. 0150—EX—ST— 2002. This STA was granted on May 15, 2002, and is set to expire on November 15, 2002. As required by the Commission‘s Rules, this request for an experimental license as well as a request for an extension of the STA are being filed today, prior to the expiration of the STA. The technical parameters for this experimental license request are identical to those provided in the STA request.
